Who We Are

We are a Brazilian climate organization that, since 2013, has been developing socio-environmental projects and new architectures for society engagement to face the climate crisis and collaborate with the multiple transitions that Brazil needs to go through, especially in the areas of food systems and urban systems .

Our work involves communication strategies, field organization, concertation intelligence, agenda formation and network management in which knowledge is translated into climate actions and new forms of intervention and advocacy that are aligned with the challenges - and urgencies - of our time.

The main objective of all initiatives led by Akorde is to understand, organize, guide and mobilize the bases of Brazilian society willing to participate in a broad climate movement towards ecological transition with justice and sustainable development from the perspective of the Global South .

Our mission is to act as a point of convergence and mutual trust , facilitating collaboration and coordination of communication efforts around complex issues, with an approach based on knowledge sharing, confluence of ideas, consensus building, public campaigns and narratives, social mobilization and articulation of strategic actors.
